VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge:

Following the great success of the MLK Basketball Classic, Directors Steve Hogen and Marc A. Beasley initiated the idea of hosting a basketball tournament featuring 12 schools from Arizona and 4 schools from out-of-state. The goal was to create another well-organized, first-class event that is fan and media friendly, while being responsive to the needs of the teams/coaches and providing a high level of competition.

With that, Steve, Marc, and Shawn Rustad (Mtn. View AD) will host the VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge (VMBC) at Mesa Mountain View on December 28-31.

While there are many holiday tournaments across the country, the VMBC feels confident the event offers unique amenities to enhance the overall experience for players, coaches, fans, and basketball enthusiasts:

* 3-person officiating crews
* 2 - 16 minute halves
* First three days will be pool play                                                                                 *Games on the final day will be determined by the tournament committee to ensure best available match-ups
* Professionally-produced DVDs will be available to each team, fans, scouts, and officials for purchase
* Box scores and game photos will be available on-line at arizonabasketballchallenge.org.

With a phenomenal response after the inaugural event in 2007, the organizers of the ABC are excited about the line-up of teams, high-quality players, and the match-ups.  Now in its third year of operation, the VMBC staff will continue to maximize the customer-service element to enhance all aspects of the tournament.
